Caring for Wooden Spoons

As the Wooden Spoon of the threesome, I became curious about how exactly I should be caring for these utensils (the little one is a Paula Dean and I love it dearly.)

I found a wonderful resource at The Gingered Whisk blog, and then fell in love with the Earlywood spoons. Uh oh! But I DO need more spoons. Those plastic things fall far short of my cooking needs!

1. Wash with hot water and mild soap (I use Melaleuca Lemonbrite)

2. Periodically oil them with a good, breathable oil.

I used Avocado because that is what I had today, but am purchasing the Earlywood oil, which is a food safe mineral oil with lemon oil for a good antibacterial protection
